This is an excellent map of Fiordland National Park. It’s huge. You can see where we took the two cruises.
First we cross Lake Manapouri and you can still see some of the cloud cover.
After about 45 minutes we land and get on a bus that will take us to the other side where we board another boat that will take us down Doubtful Sound to the Tasman Sea.
The commentary by the bus driver was quite funny. He kept referring to being no where in the middle of no where.
Our next boat awaits.
Off we go up the Doubtful Sound…
Spectacular waterfalls. We were so lucky to have this good weather, see dolphins and have the waterfalls.
Seals basking in the sun. This was at the entrance to the Tasman Sea where the water starts getting quite rough.
My picture of this dolphin isn’t very clear but you can see how high it jumped.
Bottlenose Dolphins putting on quite a show.
Back in Manapouri. What a day! You can clearly see the snow level on the mountains now that the cloud has lifted.
