The Air Show

On Friday I go to the Poole Harbour to board the steam ship Shieldhall.  She is from Glasgow and completely run by volunteers.  They saved this ship from the scrap yard and it’s an amazing ship.  I grab a coffee and we board at 9:30.

179 people onboard...146 passengers and 33 crew.

Quite a few nice boats in the harbour... lots of money here.

The pilot boats guide us out.  Poole Harbour is the second largest natural harbour in the world.

Some other interesting ships in the harbour.

Beautiful beaches.

The men are hard at work on the bridge.

A war ship is anchored to watch the show along side of us.

It’s a beautiful day.

A cold one in hand and I’m ready for the entertainment.

Wing walkers!  They were up there for a long time!

The stars of the show...the Red Arrows.

100 year anniversary of the Royal Air Force.

This is an amazing piece of machinery.  It can fly sideways and almost on end.  It’s used to carry lots of cargo.

This rock formation is called Harry’s Rock and is the beginning of the Jurassic Coast.  We pass this on our way back to the harbour.  A perfect day!
