Heading out to Zurich

We check out of our Air B&B in Munich and get a ride to the train station with Alex.  He is the owners son and it makes it so much easier with our suitcases.  Taking train everywhere is wonderful.
We take the train to the Munich bus station where we catch Flixbus to Zurich.  It’s only €15.99 and takes 4.5 hours.  It’s a good alternative.

There is a lovely town called Meersburg that is on the German side of Lake Constance. It would be a lovely place to revisit.

The bus goes on a ferry to cross Lake Constance.  Lake Constance touches Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

When we arrive at the other side of the Lake we are pretty well in Switzerland.  Back on the bus and it’s just a short drive to the border and into Switzerland.
We arrive in Zurich and head to the train station to get information on how to get to our next accommodation.  We buy our Swiss Half Price card and find the train to Wallisellen which is only three stops from the Main Train Station.

It is a lot easier to find this accommodation.  It’s very close to the station and thanks to a man we spoke to on the train we headed in the correct direction and found it easily. Lovely apartment.

Right below the apartment is a Tapas restaurant and we go for dinner and a beer.  So nice to be so close that we can be ‘home’ in 2 minutes.  It seems like I post a lot of photos of beer and wine!  Don’t be concerned....we do eat too!  It’s very expensive here on top of our dollar not doing well.  It’s about the same as the US dollar and our dollar.

The apartment is well stocked.  The owner has left a note saying help yourself and just leave some money if you use anything.  This is perfect as we’re only here two nights which isn’t worth buying groceries.  We open a bottle of wine to toast our arrival in Switzerland and then it’s off to bed.
