Gorgeous displays of fruit.
We had to go by and see how the renovations of Notre Dame were coming along. It’s going to be a long time before it’s complete. There were great pictures and descriptions of the detailed work involved to restore it back to it’s former glory.
Now if you ever wondered how they move in and out of these beautiful old buildings with an elevator the size of a shoe box this is how. Through the balcony doors. As we happened by they were in the middle of moving someone in. They were on the 7th floor. Amazing!
This is what’s called the Hotel de Ville and it’s not a hotel at all. It’s the city Hall. Amazing building.
As we cross one of the many bridges over the Seine we come across this Jazz trio. They were so good.
This is the monument where the Bastille (a state prison) used to be. This is where the famous storming of the Bastille took place in 1789.
We then catch the metro to the Louvre to walk the Tuileries.
Lovely gardens. Very popular to come and stroll. A lot of families. We stop for a bite to eat and then we’re on our way to the Luxembourg gardens.
Somehow it seems so wrong that a seagull can poop on a beautiful statue!
The Luxembourg gardens.
It’s time to find a place to eat so we head off to the Latin Quarter.
And then we discover the Place du Pantheon on the way. This is right next to the Sorbonne.
Beautiful Cathedral. Anywhere you go in Paris there are beautiful buildings. We find a creperie and have dinner. (Forgot to take a picture)
As my pedometer shows we did some serious walking in three days. Time to head back to our hotel and get ready to leave Paris. Look out Athens, here we come!
