After collecting our luggage we are met by a woman who has our rental car from Best Travel in Heraklion.
Off we go to try and find our hotel before dark. It’s a bit challenging but they have provided step by step instructions and we finally get to the Renieris Hotel. This is family run and a great hotel. Breakfast is included and the portions are huge.

The next morning we awake to this..
Lovely pool.
We hop in our car and head off to Elafonisi beach in the south. It took us a couple of hours as we made a couple of stops. This was our first stop. These handmade dolls displayed hanging in the trees.
We stop at a Taverna for a drink.
Fresh squeezed orange juice. It was so good.
What a gorgeous spot.
267 stairs up to the caves.
Finally reach the top.
Seeing goats along the way.
The monastery of Chryssoskalitissa.
Weaving done by the nuns.
This hidden room was a small school during a time when the Turks did not allow children to go to school.
