We manage to find the metro after reclaiming our suitcases. It’s approximately 40 minutes and we get off at Monastiraki Square. Luckily it’s a short walk up Athinas to our hotel, the Cecil. It’s already 7:30 but we decide to get something to eat after checking in.
Really neat restaurant/bar in the alley by our hotel. Looks deserted but there were actually lots of people.
The essential glass of wine.
Our hotel has this really old elevator. It’s really cool.
The next morning we head up the road to catch the metro to the Acropolis. So many tempting stalls of colourful food.
And there it is! We can see this from our hotel room.
We decide to see the museum.
Then we have lunch in the museum restaurant and head outside to see part of the archeological dig.
It’s amazing how they had developed latrines and sewers. Fresh water flowed to keep everything clean.
We then decide to walk back to our hotel down the hill through The Plaka. Winding streets with shops and restaurants.
We arrive back in to the chaos of Athens.
