Archaeological Museum, Heraklion

We leave Knossos Palace and head to the Archeological Museum which is apparently one of the best in the world.  After seeing a lot of the items in the museum you have more appreciation for Knossos Palace.

It’s simply amazing how these items are complete.  These items come from 7000-3000 BC!









The Snake Goddesses are cult objects from the Knossos Temple. 1650-1550 BC.

 Absolutely exquisite.  We spent two hours here and it wasn’t enough.  Remarkable.

We walk back to our hotel and come across some interesting buildings.

This is known as the gate.  We are back at our hotel and we meet Meeka for dinner.  Off to bed.  Another busy day tomorrow.
