Looking up the mountain you can see the town of Delphi. It is the upper one. There is still snow in the mountains. On the way to Delphi we passed a ski area with some very nice homes.
Lovely pool at our hotel but still quite cold. No time for swimming anyhow as there is lots to see.
LWe walk into town and see this church. The. We head back for dinner.
A glass of wine on the deck before supper and then off to bed. Full day tomorrow.
The sanctuary of Athena pronaia. Athena was worshipped as the goddess of wisdom, fertility and health. The temple dates back to 7th century BC.
Then off to the museum.
Thermopyles 480 BC an amazing battle between a few Greeks and a million Persions took place. When asked to give up their arms Leonidas replied with the famous phrase COME AND GET THEM.
