Thursday in Dalkey

Thursday morning we catch the DART and just travel two stops north to the village of Dalkey.  This village is picture perfect.  

It's gorgeous and you can tell this is the town that Mauve Binchey based her books on.  Mauve Binchy lived in this town until she passed in 2012 and her husband still resides in the house.

Next door is Finnegan's Pub.  Well known for sightings of Bono from U2 as he lives just outside of Dalkey.  Great food and atmosphere.  Had lunch here as well as our first Irish coffee.

We toured Dalkey Castle.  The staff dress in period costume and take you through the history of Dalkey.  Very entertaining and fun.

Back on the DART and back to Shankill.  This is the neighbourhood we are living in.

This is Mandy's house.  And these are the dogs....Whoopie, Bella and Treacle.
