An evening to remember

We were invited to dinner to a house in Shankill.  There was a couple that were doing a house exchange in Kamloops and had visited Mary's sister.  When told that Mary was housesitting in Ireland they asked whereabouts in Ireland and it turned out it was just up the road in Shankill!  What a small world.  So when they returned to Shankill they connected with Mary and then invited us to dinner.

Pattie and Joan have a lovely property and showed us a lovely time.  Joan had fixed a 'typical' Irish meal which consisted of ham, cabbage and new potatoes.  We started the meal with grapefruit.  White wine to drink and plums from their garden for desert.  Lovely.

Pattie has also written his first book which has been published.  I bought a copy which he signed for me.   Bramblings is the name of their property.
