Along the way we pass these tractors pulling these caravans. It’s a parade that happens every year.
Quite unique
Seems strange to see snow on the mountains as we approach Grenada. This is the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Grenada is also close to the Mediterranean so you could visit the beach and ski in the mountains and stay in Grenada.
The walls of Alhambra. Built in the 13th century perched atop Assabica Hill is now a declared UNESCO World heritage site. Influenced by the Moors it housed the Royal family.
The surrounding gardens are quite lush.
The walls are covered with writing done in a mixture of plaster and marble dust. The saying states “The Only Victor is God”
Beautiful doors.
The Summer Palace was close by and the Royal Family moved by horseback for the summer months.
View of Granada from Alhambra.
After Alhambra we have an amazing lunch and then we have free time. Bev and I decide a trip to the Spa would be perfect so we go to a Hammam (Arab bath) for a soak, steam and massage. It felt so good.
The Hammam is located in the Muslim district so we have a look around before heading back to our hotel,
Tomorrow we depart for Valencia but we will stop for lunch in Alicante.
