Halifax

It’s June 6 and Marlene and I are heading to the Maritimes for 3 weeks.  We fly WestJet to Halifax where we will meet our tour in a couple of days.  Easy flight with a stop over in Winnipeg.  We Uber to our hotel arriving just before 10 pm.
.

Great location next to the Citadel and easy walk to the waterfront.

Beautiful old buildings as we walk towards the waterfront.

We pass a historic cemetery.

So many graves of children…very few lived to old age.

We arrive down on the waterfront and have decided to go to the Farmer’s Market.  It is located at the most western point of the waterfront promenade.

It’s full of vendors and very busy.  Lots of good things to eat.

Pier 21 is famous for all the immigrants that have passed through here to start new lives in Canada.

This would typically be an interview room for an immigrant

Down on the promenade having lunch at the Bicycle Thief.  The wind was cold and we had to eat quickly. It was so good.

Digby scallops!  OMG!  So good.

These gardens are magnificent.
