Today is an At Sea day as we make our way to Vietnam. Weather is cloudy but you can feel the humidity. We spend some time booking excursions for our next cruise. The entertainment this evening in the theatre is Boogieland. Great talent, singing, dancing and aerial show.
Sunday, November 26/23
Today we dock in Vietnam at 7 am. Our tour is at 8 am and we board the bus. It’s blowing pretty good and pouring. We were given umbrellas and plastic raincoats which is helpful otherwise we’d be soaked. We’re just doing a self guided tour of Hoi An.
The bus first goes to Danang and the tour guide points out places of interest. Most of it is about the Vietnam war and the American troops. He points out Monkey Mountain and China Beach. It’s pretty cloudy so not much is visible.
We arrive in Hoi An after about 1.5 hrs. We are heading to the Old Town which is pedestrian only except for the odd annoying motorbike bombing through laying on their horn.
We find a place to have lunch and it’s delicious. Dumplings and salad. We then visit a few temples and browse the shops.
Before we know it it’s time to head back to the ship. The ship leaves at 4:30 and we don’t want to miss it. Went for a drink in the lounge and then dinner at 5:30. We like going early so that we make the show at 7. Tonight is the rock violinist Kidai. So high energy! Amazing show. Off to bed. Two more days at sea and then Singapore.
