Tasmania

Our flight took us through Sydney and then to Hobart.  Pretty well took a whole day.  We take the airport shuttle bus into Hobart and then a taxi to our hotel.  We are being picked up at 7 am for our seven day tour of Tasmania.  Garreth (or Wombat) is our driver and guide.  There are 21 of us on this tour.

We are driving up the east coast from Hobart.  This is Kelvedon Beach.  The weather is cloudy with light rain unfortunately.

We then go to Kate’s place for treats. Kate is very hands on.

Swansea.

We have arrived at the Freycinet National Park.  Most of our group elect to do the hike to Wine Glass Bay however Marlene and I choose an easier walk to Honeymoon Bay.  We’re glad we do as it starts to pour and we are soaked.  Wine Glass Bay got its name from the days of Whaling.  When they would bleed a whale the water would turn red.

Wineglass Bay.

Honeymoon Bay looks a little bleak in the rain.  We’re told it’s a great place for beginner snorklers.

Ranger Creek

We arrive at the town of Bicheno where we are staying the night.  It is pouring and I can’t wait for a hot shower.  Hopefully the weather will improve.
