Today we enjoy a leisurely morning as we don't have a tour booked today. After breakfast we decide to walk to the Jewish area of Prague. We buy a ticket which allows us entry into several places and a map directing us where to go. What an amazing but tragic history!
You can't really see the design on this house but it was beautiful.
Loved this statue...it's how Marlene and I feel after a day of touring!
The Maiselova Synagogue dating back to 1541.
Horse and carriage for tourists...very popular.
The Ceremonial Hall contained information on Jewish customs and traditions.
The Jewish cemetery....thousands buried here. Established in 1680 and used until 1890.
The Holy ark in High Synagogue, 1610.
The Pinkasova Synagogue..memorial to the victims of the Shoah from Bohemia and Moravia. Here they had children's drawings that were kept from Terezin 1942-1944 (concentration/death camp).
The Old-New Synagogue...oldest landmark of the Jewish Town. Built in the 13th century.
On our way back to our hotel we pass the smallest house in Prague...just 7.5 feet wide!
Wow - we should have been following you two that day; we missed a lot of that neighbourhood!
