Sue and I fly over to the Big Island from Kauai. It only takes about an hour. The Big Island has been having an unusual amount of rain for this time of year but usually has more sunshine than Kauai.
We visit the Hilton which is just down the road...this place is over the top...amazing but not somewhere I would like to stay.
As the sun sets this fellow runs around lighting all the torches and then blows the conch at the end of the ceremony.
We're staying at the Waikoloa Beach Resort...It's busier than the Cliffs but just as nice.
Three large pools...none of which are crowded...it's lovely!
As I am standing at the BBQ this is the view I am enjoying!
We visit the Hilton which is just down the road...this place is over the top...amazing but not somewhere I would like to stay.
This is where the dolphins are For a price you can swim with them.
The décor is very Asian...they cater very much to Japan and China
This resort is so large that they have a train that runs around and you can hop off, hop on.
Regal as a queen....Sue is so at home...we were born to enjoy this level of decadence.
We find the best public beach...Anaeho'omalu Bay..it's amazing!
We even find to Chaise Lounges....Score!! A little shade, the water right in front...perfect!
And just around the corner we find this great beach side restaurant called the Lava Lava Club.
Back at the Hilton we head over to watch the sunset ceremony.
As the sun sets this fellow runs around lighting all the torches and then blows the conch at the end of the ceremony.
And the end of another lovely day on the Big Island!
