it's March and it's snowing!

This is one of our longest and coldest winters.  Here it is March and we're still experiencing snow and colder than normal temperatures.

Housesitting in Vancouver and it's still coming down. Brrr!  The ski hills are doing a booming business.

Lucky for this little bird the bird feeders are kept full.

The last blast of winter?

This year has been quite a crazy winter.  Usually we don't get snow, or very little of it.  It mainly stays on the mountains but this year we broke records.  Most people in Vancouver don't even have winter boots let alone winter tires.
My grandson found some 'virgin' snow to leave his mark.
One last blast (maybe?)
And now it's warming up, raining and turning to slush....what a mess...but soon the flowers will be pushing up and this will all be a memory!

Cold is gone!

Well after some unusual cold, snowy weather we have returned to our usual balmy, wet weather.  Went for a walk to Crescent Beach last Sunday with my good friend Kathy.  It was an amazing day.

The water was like glass.

Look at that sunset!  My favourite place!

My new home in White Rock

Well it's been just about a month since I moved to White Rock.  Feels like this is home and where I'm meant to be.  Close to family and now that I am in a larger apartment I can actually have the family over for a meal!

Paul's birthday so we had brunch together.  Managed to get eight of us around the table.  Yeah!

My grandsons had fun playing together and building towers!  Love being able to have family over!

Christmas Eve with the Farrants!

We had a wonderful Xmas dinner and as a surprise we all received matching Christmas onesies courtesy of Susan.

My two sons..
And of course they come complete with a back door!
Which made this a very 'Beary' Xmas!

Enchant was enchanting!

Tonight we took in Enchant.  This is a new event for Christmas consisting of a maze of lights, a Christmas market, a variety of food trucks and a range of Christmas drinks.

So many people and lots of children.

It was so cold but nice that it wasn't raining.  Snow is around the corner I'm sure.

A wee crescent moon.

A little hot mulled wine went down really well!

Night out!

With Christmas fast approaching we decided to get a "Xmas Fix" for music at the Blue Frog in White Rock last night.  My sister, Sue, friend Marlene and myself went to see The Timewalkers.  Group of four men that do a selection of Xmas tunes but also numbers from the Eagles, the Beatles and Leonard Cohan.  They harmonize beautifully.  What a great night!

The next morning it was breakfast with Santa at the White Rock firehall.  All the grandkids were there waiting patiently for pancakes!
