Off to Delhi

It’s time to leave Much Wenlock. Bill and Kate were wonderful hosts and took me to dinner at the Talbot pub. The next morning Kate drove me to the Telford train station.

Snowing lightly over the fields on the way to Manchester

I arrived at the Manchester airport and caught my flight at 3:15 for Amsterdam. Had a little time to kill so enjoyed a cold one.

Not a pleasant day in Manchester

I arrive in Amsterdam and by the time I clear passport control, find the hotel shuttle bus and get to the Ramada it’s 6 pm. Amazing how travel can eat up a whole day.

I relax tonight and get ready to leave for Delhi in the morning. Flying to Moscow and then Delhi. We are delayed leaving Amsterdam due to light flurries of snow. Aeroflot is a Russian airline and very bare bones. I get to sit beside a fellow that snores to beat the band.

I look so impressed!

It was just over 3 hours to Moscow but I barely make my connection. Very stressful as I didn’t want to overnight in Moscow. On the flight to Delhi I meet Natalie who is sitting beside me. As soon as I sit down Natalie offers me some wine. Apparently she is a nervous flyer so she’s brown bagging it. By the middle of the flight she is chugging straight from the bottle!

We arrive at 4:30 am in Delhi. Line up is huge for my entry visa. Takes about an hour but I finally get through. I go to collect my bag and low and behold no bag!

Several people don’t have their bags so then I queue to report it missing then leave to find my ride. Thankfully he is still there and it’s a twenty minute drive through crazy traffic.   I get to the hotel at 6:30 am and rest but can’t sleep.

I text Cathryn and we decide to meet for breakfast on the rooftop. Great place to hang out.

It's hard to see by on this guys hat there is a little furry creature...they are all over and they're quite cute.

Our "perfect" hotel!  Nothing fancy but great staff.
Cathryn and Leanne checking out the sales!
The lounge area on the 3rd floor (outside my room)

After breakfast we check out a few streets and then retreat to the hotel for a cold beer. We go over the agenda for our trip and then we start to fade. Time for a little rest and then we’ll meet for dinner.

A new do!

I love this town. The people are so friendly. I feel at home. I was desperate to have my hair cut and coloured. I was given the phone number for Mal at Envision Hair Design. She was so nice and picked a wonderful colour for me.

Love the colour!

Now that I feel renewed I am in a better state of mind to head to India in a few days.

The weather changes so quickly here...it was sunny a few minutes ago and as I look out the window before I take the dogs out it starts to pour!

Today I join Chris for a different walk...luckily the sun has now come out but from the previous downpour there is a lot of mud!  We are high on the Wenlock Edge.  There is quite a drop off here and this is as close as I can get to seeing the view beyond the trees.

Wide open spaces....and lots of mud :)

The dogs love it!

This is Chris with Betty, her dog.

Later in the evening I light the fire and settle in with a glass of wine and the dogs.

Millie and Rosie....so sweet (now that the mud has dried)
