Lots happening!

In June one of my oldest friends turned 65 and retired....all on the same day.  I attended her retirement party at the Deep Cove Yacht Club.  It was a wonderful affair with lots of people in attendance.  Kathy's daughters and sisters arranged everything.  A great start to the next adventure of retirement

Also in June was my grandson's Seikido classes.  They love this and do very well.

Harper getting another stripe on his belt!

Landon completing his kick and breaking the board!  Well done!

Cousins pile on!  They so enjoy each others company!

Landon was in a play The Lion King that his school put on.  Quite the mask he is wearing!

Paul and Kiara bought a home so we have a lovely patio to have family dinners...this was the first!

We went to the Blue Frog Studio in White Rock to watch a tribute to Buddy Holly...excellent show!

Then Lucille and I went to the Scandinavian Midsummer Festival in Burnaby.

One of the hi-lights was the Carry Your Wife race....hilarious!

Very authentic Viking camp.

A typical Viking tent...the canvas was made from wool and that's what they used for their sails as well.  Who knew?

Lovely BBQ salmon for dinner....and of course an ice cold beer to go with it!

The Shuswap

Susan and Richard rented a cottage on the Shuswap for two weeks in June.  This was so we could try out this property to see if it worked for all of our family for a summer retreat.  It was up at Anglemont where I had never been before.  Quiet, pristine...it was lovely.

The main cabin.

This was the second cabin … queen bed and bunk beds.  Perfect for the family.

It was so nice having use of a kayak....Teeny and Jamie out for a paddle.

The whole family out for a canoe ride...a little tippy but Jamie was good about being still.

Mike relaxing!

It was cloudy but still so beautiful!

Around the campfire - Susan, Teeny, Jamie and Richard.

Waiting patiently for the fire to be ready for the marshmallow roast!

Three generations of Farrants….Richard, Mike and Jamie!

Too cold for swimming but got a little fishing in!

My favorite spot!

When Paul, Kiara, Landon and Harper arrived the weather cleared up for a day!  Paul went for a paddle with Landon.

Harper on the dock....a little chilly!

And then Paul had to go for a dip....icy cold!

Life at Home

The grandkids are so busy with their different activities.  I try to watch as much as I can.

Landon at his swimming lessons...he says the pool is too cold...he's shivering by the time we make it to the hot tub.

Harper in his Sekeido class...learning some smooth moves.

Nice evening down at the water at East Beach in White Rock.

Mother's Day was lovely...Mike made eggs Benny...sooo..good and Jamie painted a card for me!  A lovely lily plant was mine to take home!

And then in the afternoon I sat on the beach with Landon, Harper, Paul and Kiara enjoying a coffee.  A lovely Gerbera plant now graces my coffee table!

Ice cream day at Crescent Beach with Jamie...He's wearing it!

Harper has earned his second stripe in Sekeido....he's pretty proud!

Housesit at Eileen's...the garden is beautiful and the weather is great...so enjoying it!

At the Surrey Arts Centre for an art show displaying the different art from the teachers...Jamie was getting bored and in this picture it appears he's flying...he's actually standing on the step behind him.

Teeny making a speech.

These ceramics were done by Teeny...they are so cute!

Teeny, Jamie and Mike in front of Teeny's art.  Well done Teeny!

Tulip Festival in Mt. Vernon, Washington

Diane and I decide to head south to Mt. Vernon to check out the tulip festival.  Mt. Vernon is having a street market.

Lots of shops set up...beautiful day to browse!

This has got to be the cutest pet carrier....the dog was very content.

The fields are beautiful...there were some lovely purples and blues but I didn't capture those.

We then head to La Connor...such a pretty town....haven't been here in years!

Great place to shop for antiques!

And of course ice cream!

Day at the beach with the grandsons!

Jamie enjoying a cold one!

And a beautiful evening in White Rock in East Beach.
